Biography :
Prof. George L. Danko is a Professor in the Department of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), USA. He has been a faculty member at UNR since 1995 and has extensive experience in mining engineering, mechanical systems, and applied modeling of complex physical processes. He earned advanced degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mathematics, including a PhD from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, along with a Doctor of Science degree. Prior to joining UNR, he held academic and research positions in Hungary, contributing to engineering education and applied research in fluid and transport phenomena. His research focuses on fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, subsurface flow, mine ventilation systems, slurry transport, and geothermal energy applications. He is the developer of the MULTIFLUX simulation system, widely used for modeling airflow and transport processes in underground mining environments. Prof. Danko has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, contributed to international conferences, and holds several U.S. patents. He is actively involved in teaching, research supervision, and engineering systems modeling at UNR.
